Dragonfruit returns on Super Sonic Jazz Records with their 5th single ‘’Know Better’’. “Born out of love for sample-hip hop and neo-soul”, Dragonfruit lays down a chilled yet danceable sound that is characterised by their love for samples, organic electronics, rich lo-fi textures. Influenced by a multitude of sounds ranging from the bouncy drums of hip-hop to the lush melodies of R&B and the energy of club bangers, the band puts itself on the forefront of the modern R&B landscape.

‘’Know Better’’ sucks you into a dark nightclub where due to the bright lights you can’t distinguish left from right. Thick layered synthesizers, a heavy bass and Dragonfruits signature blend of percussion and lo-fi textures create a foundation where the lush vocals of Danique van der Vlugt can shine through.

The song is about seeking refuge in nightlife. Numbing yourself from feelings of stress, anxiety and pain through stimulants. You can run away from anything, but yourself. However, that realisation doesn't always stop us from supressing our feelings

Hailing from Rotterdam, the band has already created a buzz for themselves with their singles ‘’Wasted’’ ‘’Apples’’ and ‘’Some Say’’, tracks that received special love from several publications, including Earmark, KALTBLUT, Stereofox and Somewhere Soul. As part of the Super Sonic Family, Dragonfruit lands perfectly into a growing scene of jazz loving, soul performers with lively beats and rich energy.
